Do I need Anti-Reflective coating on my glasses?
Do you drive at night? Do you watch TV? Do you use a computer? Do you work in fluorescent lighting? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then Anti-Reflective (AR) coating is a MUST on your glasses. AR can reduce eyestrain caused from the glare/reflection of light on your glasses making driving, working on your computer or watching tv easier. AR on glasses also improves your appearance, particularly when taking photographs while wearing your glasses. With glasses that do not have anti-reflective coating, outside images tend to be reflected by the glasses and block out the wearer's eyes. AR ensure your eyes are seen.Crizal AvancéTM with ScotchgardTM Protector lenses - the AR lenses made to stay clean. Crizal®, the #1 AR brand used by Select Eyecare, Marsh Optical and Carver Eye Care, and Scotchgard Protector, the #1 consumer brand in protection, have joined forces to give you the ultimate in cleanability and protection. Crizal Avancé with Scotchgard Protector lenses repel stains, dirt and smudges better than any other, making them the easiest to clean. And, while many AR lenses offer an easy-to-clean surface when new, the effectiveness of this feature deteriorates over time, leaving the lenses difficult to clean. Independent Lab tests prove Crizal Avancé with Scotchgard Protector lenses start out the easiest to clean and stay that way over the life of the prescription. September is sports eye injury prevention awareness month!
Your regular glasses don't provide enough protection and can even cause more harm.
More than 40,000 people a year suffer eye injuries while playing sports.
For all ages, sports-related eye injuries happen the most in baseball, basketball and racquet sports.
Almost all sports-related eye injuries are preventable. Whatever your game or age, you need to protect your eyes!
Take the following steps to avoid sports eye injuries:
- Wear proper safety goggles or sport goggle with polycarbonate lenses for racquet sports or basketball.
- Use batting helmets with polycarbonate face shields for youth baseball.
- Use helmets and face shields approved by the U.S. Amateur Hockey Association when playing hockey.
- Know that regular glasses don't provide enough protection.
