Dave and Jane, husband and wife, are the owners of Select Eyecare With over 50 years of combined optical experience, they offer expert eye care, extensive selection of eyewear and personalized customer service.
David began his optical training at Anoka Technical College, graduating with a degree in Optical Technology. After gaining experience in several optical labs David opened his own wholesale optical lab, The-Len’s Co. In 1996 David purchased his first retail eye care store, Select Eyecare located in Monticello, MN. With Jane’s degrees in Vocal Performance and Music Education, Dave assumed and stated “since you are good with music you would be good with numbers”. This is where Jane enters the family business.
With the success of the Monticello store, they soon opened additional locations. Each location continues to provide personalized service that you can’t find at discount giants and major chains, yet still offer highly competitive prices along with quality and fashion.
Dave and Jane met performing in local community theatre productions. This continues to be a passion for both as well as biking and walking their dog Charlie.

Dr. Catapano received her Bachelor’s Degree from Gustavus Adolphus College in St Peter, MN and her Doctorate Degree in Optometry from Southern California College of Optometry.
Practicing since 1989, Dr. Catapano is committed to providing the highest quality of vision care for you and your family.
Dr. Catapano resides in Otsego with her husband, Sam and has been blessed with two children and three grandchildren. She spends her free time running marathons and keeping up with the grandkids.
Dr. Jean L Layman is an Optometrist. She graduated with honors from Illinois College of Optometry At Chicago. Having more than 38 years of experience, she is more than qualified to care for you and your family’s eye care needs.

What is your background? I am an optician and have been in the world of Optics since 2018 and part of the Select Eyecare Family since July 2021.
What do you like about working at Select Eyecare? I love getting to meet new faces and catching up with the old.
Things you do when not working? Traveling, spending time with my fur babies and finding new hobbies
What is a pet peeve you have? Definitely being interrupted while talking.
What is it is you like about working at Select Eyecare: The best part is being part of the community and getting to know our customer. We get to learn people’s unique needs and know what products best serve them.
Little known fact: I have a very keen sense of smell, sometimes it is a good thing and sometimes not!
What do you enjoy doing when not working: Taking road trips and discovering new places, camping and hanging out with my family and friends.
Pet Peeve: Slow drivers in the left lane.
